Programs and classes I have taught and can teach:
- Maternal Dance – The Joy of Dance. The Benefits of Exercise. -Suzanne created the first nationally recognized prenatal dance and exercise program designed specifically for pregnant women to get in shape for labor and delivery, and set
yourself up to ease back into your new mom bod or better! Clubs in NYC such as Equinox, New York Health & Racquet Club, Crunch and the YMCA, have had Suzanne teach her Maternal Dance program, and her instructional DVD, The Prenatal Belly Dance Workout has been endorsed by the March of Dimes. Both Maternal Dance and the DVD has been featured in various media outlets such as on the Discovery Health channel, SELF and Pilates Style Magazines, The Knot, and more.
- Prenatal Yoga/Pilates –
- Belly dance workout – learn to shake and shimmy in ways you dreamt you could while burning major calories in only 25 minutes!
- Ballet Barre/Barre – Using ballet exercises at the barre to stretch , strengthen and tone!
Other dance classes taught in Colleges, high schools, clubs, etc.
- Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern dance classes
- Ballroom – Waltz, Tango, Fox Trot, Swing
- Latin – Rumba, Cha Cha, Mambo, Salsa, Merengue
Pilates Mat – having been trained in the Jospeh Pilates method while attending NYU, and certified as part of my Masters degree in Dance, I teach a traditional pilates class modeled after the father of pilates, Joseph Pilates, who originally created pilates for stretching and strengthening ballet dancers. Now we find everybody enjoys and benefits from these exercises.
Yoga – Suzanne combines vinyasa and power yoga, offering students a flowing, yet, challenging yoga class to achieve a nice mind/body balance with relaxation to tie it all together.
In my early aerobics days I taught step classes, jazzercise and straight up high impact aerobics, but have cut out teaching step and high impact at this stage.
Other current offerings:
Ladies Dance Night Out – can offer this for free first time – a good introduction to the belly dance workout.
Ancient Moves for Modern Women – A two-hour workshop for a deeper dive into dance and movement with journaling for the purpose of inspiring creative expression.
